how could this be?

Lily sat with her legs crisscrossed on a sand bank. She needed to get away, but there was no where to go. Besides here. Here was an oasis in the middle of a lava ocean. She had found it when she first died. She had been overwhelmed with the thought that she would be leaving everything she ever loved. She was only thirteen to make matter worse. To this day she couldnt even bring herself to think about her murder. Lily reached over to the small, crystal clear pool and dipped her fingers into the icey water then ran them down her face. Despite her usual get up, Lily had on a yellow skirt and a black tank top, with a pair of raggedy looking Converse. Lily was sad. Most people at her school when she had been alive had thought she was emo. But she wasnt. She saw more than others did. Lily rarely allowed herself to be like this. So unorganized. So out of place. She pulled at lock of blacker-than-night hair behind her ear and layed under the shade of a palm tree. She ran her fingers over the cut on her face, it was now scabbed over. She imagened her fingers as someone else. As an angels. As Aarons. Lily opened her eyes
"No, you cant think about him!"
She said to herself. She could think about him could she? Wasn't it forbidden? If anyone knew how she felt for the angel she'd be outcast. But how did she feel about him? She despised every inch of his golden self. She did, but thats what drew her in. How could she like him at all? Much less like like him? She couldnt be in love with him could she? No she couldnt.
"Yes I could."
Lily whispered. But she wouldnt admit that she might be. She couldnt allow that kind of confermation when she knew that he didnt feel the same. He was the leader of the angels. He was to love the perfect girl. Not the one that was so insecure, although you couldnt see it. She looked at the portal beyond the lava. There it shimmered every color of the rainbow. Lily could slightly remember those from her human life. You never saw them in Hell. She felt drawn towards the portal.

Something whispered in her head. Lily shook her head as to gt rid of it then layed in upon her arms which were crossed on the sand. She cursed herself for forgetting a jacket, then sighed and closed her eyes. Her mind whirled with the though of Aaron bursting through the portal. But no angel would dare come to Hell, it was to dark for their bright souls.

Aaron sat quietly in the palace of Heaven. Something felt... wierd. Out of place. He couldn't quite name it, but he felt like... almost like something, or someone was being drawn to him. He stood up, spreading his silvery wings, and took to the skies.

Lily tossed in her sleep, something tugging at her through the dream she was having of her kitten she had left when she died. Something like a thread. It was pulling her. She decided to leave the kitten in her dream and focus on the thread. It was woven, with small hair-fine threads. Two smaller thread to be exact. On was black. Black like the black-than-night hair that covered Lily's pretty head. But this thread seem to draw a mysterious attitude. Lily felt drawn to touch it. And so she did. She reached a hand out and touched the black thread. She was suddenly taken back to her human life. She was walking down the street, going home from school. Someone was following her. She wouldnt turn around, but the footsteps grew closer. She decided to take a peek. There in her face was a man. She opened her mouth to scream, but his hand covered all. She was dragged into an ally. Everything blurred. Cloths ripped. Lily was exposed. A whisper in her ear.
"Dont scream or you die."
It said. She screamed anyways, right when he said it. Something cold went through he chest, something sharp. She looked down. A sharp tip produced from her bare chest, right where her heart was. She feel. Sirens wailed. The man ran. Lily screamed and pulled her hand back from the cord. She was crying, thick, wet tears rolling down from her face. She feel back, like someone had smacked her. Now she was creaming, wailing crying in her sleep, tosing and turnin, scratching at herself as the images came into her mind. She tssed and turned and wailed but she couldnt wake up. The story played over and over in her mind, and each time in more detail.

Scarlet groaned, awakened by the screams of some girl. "Stupid little girls, thinking they can visit anywhere they want in their dreams..." Scarlet mumbled to herself, walking towards the screams. She stopped in her tracks when she was who was crying. She poked the girl in her sleep. "I'd advise you to wake up, before you reenter the land you are dreaming of." she whispered.

Lily trashed violently. But she couldnt wake up. SO she though of another solution. Touch the white thread. And she did. She was sucked into a world were she couldnt hear Scarlet. All that was in her attention was the golden haired boy, living his life. Opening presents on Christmas, trick-or-treating on Halloween, going to school. His whole life poured out to her. Except for the part where he was killed. She searched for it after devouring every last crumble of his past. But it wasnt there. It disturbed Lily to a degree that she became upset. Why didnt he have a death? And why was hers in the cord. She looked at the cord. It was the only thing there. All the memories where gone. Well, not really. They were hers now. Hers to keep safe inside her mind. Then a though produced in Lilys head. She had to pull on the rope. She reached out her hands and got a firm grip on the rope. Then she gave a tremendous pull, wretching her shoulders. She tugged and tugged, getting only a little bit of slack at a time. She didnt know what she was pulling to her, but she desperatly needed to find out.

Scarlet growled deep in her throat. "i don't think you should be doing that." she hissed, but walked away from the girl.

Lily's hands started to get rope burn, but she didnt mind. She needed to get to the other end. She was gradually pulling it closer and closer, but she didnt know how much of the cord there was to pull in. She didnt care, she knew there was something important on the other end. And curiosity was getting the best of her. So she pulled, catching glimpses of her death and Aarons life intertwined with the threads.
